Sunrise Rooftop Yoga & Brekkie hosted by Party Hosts Ready for Wellness
Have You Heard (HYH) has been coming up with creative ways to offer entertainment, adventure, and a party scene to Sydney-siders with such successes as The Yacht Social Club and the secret weekend away events (The Beach, Camp Unknown, The Afterlife & Summer Land). After plenty of parties, we are pleased to introduce a weekday wellness event.
Yes it's important to let loose every once in a while, and we offer plenty of options for that category; however, there is nothing more rewarding than taking time out to recharge your batteries and give some love back to your mind, body and soul. It is about finding the right balance.
In keeping with the HYH vision of creating extraordinary experiences in beautiful locations to share with like minded people and your community, The Balance Project maintains this foundation and builds upon it a sense of well being. We want these events to be somewhere people can come to take refuge from the everyday, to learn the recipe for joy, to bring their bodies into efficient harmony and health. Somewhere they can meet up with their friends and engage with a practice that makes their lives better whilst being inspired by their surroundings.
Next month, The Balance Project launches as a new series of exclusive events beginning with a weekly sunrise yoga class on the rooftop of Cruise Bar, Circular Quay Sydney. You’re invited to soak up the rising sun and panoramic views of the Sydney Opera House and the city and join a 60-minute, Vinyasa yoga class hosted by Gemma Mills, from Body Mind Life & Yogi Bare Essentials, and Jo Walsh from In Yoga & Flow with Jo. This class will be accessible to beginners while providing enough challenge for seasoned yogis. After the class you can enjoy a healthy breakfast of bircher muesli with yoghurt and fruit platters.
The classes will begin on Thursday 9th June from 6:30-7:30am and run on Thursday 16th, Wednesday 22nd and Thursday 30th June.
Tickets are just $20 and include yoga class & breakfast. Mats and showers are not provided. Coffee and fresh pressed juices available via a cash bar. You can book them here now. Read about our wonderful teachers below.
Gemma’s first experience of yoga was in a tough Iyengar class in Leeds, UK. Originally a kickboxer, she loved the balance that it brought to her body and the mental clarity and health.
Taking her first teacher training with Holly Coles at Preshana Vinyasa in 2014, Gemma has since completed Shiva Rea’s Mandala of Asanas with Chanel Luck, as well as Intermediate teacher training at BodyMindLife with Simon Park, Noelle Connolly, Jo Gates and Kat Clayton. Gemma’s classes are fun, flowing and uplifting, and set to an ever-evolving playlist of music that adds fluidity and a dance-like aspect to the practise.
Jo’s classes are a fluid flow of breath and movement – playful yet grounding. With three year’s teaching experience taking her from London to Sydney, Jo’s initial training in Thai Yin Yoga allowed her to explore the depth of mind that can be achieved with a quiet, yin practice. On her arrival in Sydney she trained in Vinyasa Flow Yoga at InYoga with Nicole Walsh, who has continued to be an inspiring mentor. She has since trained in movement-led Strala Yoga with Tara Stiles in Singapore.
In Jo’s classes, you can expect anything from arm balances to long deep holds that will help you to become truly present and empowered.
